About Me
Joined in 1969 passed test for the 6 in 1972 and was on the crash line at Cottesmore and was still driving it to the "taceval" fire at Wittering two weeks before demob in 1978, a great British built vehicle. I went to GAN in 1974 and my profile image shows me in front of the DP3.Posted to wittering I drove the (new to me ) MK9 and enjoyed it but it did not give me the cross country confidence of the MK6. When I left the RAF I joined the Newark Air Museum and I toggled their MK6 and as it was in running condition paid for the fuel to run it round the old peri track to unwind the suspension ,what a joy .! I now make models and the MK6 is the latest vehicle I have tackled .I may attend the Land rover owners meeting this year and bring the MK6 to show at the stand if possible.
