Range Rover 1970 2 door

Registration number: EWP925J

6X4 4 WHEEL DRIVE WITH TRAILING AXLE

Chassis number: 00258 (I think)

Converted in late 70’s by

JNR Motors Group, Wainwright Street, Birmingham

I bought the car in 1987 when it was 3.5 petrol painted black & gold.

It had quite a lot of body rot in the usual places – sills, inner flitches, floor etc.

I spent 2 years welding her & fitting a 5.7 V8 chevvy diesel engine, replaced the screen for a tinted one, electric windows, later dash with rev counter, prototype one piece fibreglass tailgate, one piece side windows, later vogue seats, overdrive, high ratio gears & I can’t remember what else!

The outside was re-sprayed Masai red, an original RR colour (it was originally green)

The chassis had lots of welding as well as a coating of red lead & then underseal.

I used the vehicle for a year or so as my only transport but never got around to finishing the inside (I have the headlining although it’s pretty scruffy now)

In 1993 (well that’s the last time she was taxed according to the disk!) I put her in the garage as I had bought a newer Vogue & lost the use of my fathers 24’ square garage with carlift, welding tackle etc.

I have a box of bits of various trim etc.

I have the registration document at the moment, but I never got around to changing it so it still says she is a 4 wheel petrol vehicle!

Somewhere I have an album full of photos (& video I think) of the work in progress but I can’t find it at the moment (I moved house 13 years ago & still have unopened boxes!)

Very rare – in fact unique vehicle that needs a new caring home & a bit of tlc.

Unfortunately the nearside quaterlight & rear window have just been broken by vandals - hence I am looking for a quick sale.
