YVB 152H Campaign Launched

Please take a moment of your time to read the new page added to our group. This vehicle has an historic interest to our group as it's the 1st Commando built. There is a rumour that the owner is going to convert it back to the 'original' 2nd production Range Rover Classic.

It would be a dreadful shame to lose a '1st' of one type to re-build a copy of the '2nd' of another. I say copy as not much if anything would be 'original' and to attempt to sell or claim it as the 2nd production Classic would be fraud I believe anyway?

Once it is widely known it's not  'original' I think it would become almost worthless to a 'genuine; collector or enthusiast.

Yes it should be saved but at 14000 to 18000 is a little (LOT) steep.

This is my car! I have no intention of selling it. I appreciate your thoughts but as it is it's not very usable. Taking it back to what it originally was is certainly an option. I'm not going to do it just yet, however!

I might keep you informed ......... Lol!!!!

Ultimately it's completely my decision of course!!

Feeling very depressed at the thought of TACR2 number1 being cut up to make a largely non-original four wheeler.
The word sacrilege is one that springs most forcefully to mind.

A question if I may Charles (If you're still talking to us).
Are you the same Charles who owned the machine in 2004 and exhibited with us at Gaydon that year?

I think it was sold on in April 2012.

Yes, I was aware of this Nut Behind The Wheel but I'm not sure it sold. My understanding was the reserve was too high.

I do hope you save the beast. Its a very nice machine and if beyond economic repair I could support rejuvanation into something else..
